This work is inspired by Ellsworth Kelly’s Colors for a Large Wall.Painted in 1951 and hung at The Museum of Modern Art in NY City, it is comprised of sixty-four 12” squares.
In an homage to Mr. Kelly, I am painting sixty-four 12” squares using my own imagery. Included here are a selection from the ones completed so far.
As Mr.Kelly was a lovely and generous man to our Columbia County community, I am excited to honor him in this way.
When finished the squares will be hung together in a 96″ square grid.
This project is being supported by The Martha Boschen Porter Fund: A fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
